If you're not French you will most surely never have heard about S.E.L.L.
which stands for Syndicat des Éditeurs des Logiciels de Loisirs
, or in English Leisure Software Editors Syndicate
regroups 32 companies which represents 95% of the total turnover for this market in France. Among these 32 you indeed find some well known actors of the market like Activision Blizzard
, Disney Interactive Studios
, Electronic Arts
, Konami Digital Entertainment
, Namco Bandai Partners
, Sony Computer Entertainment
, Square Enix
, Take 2 Interactive
or Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment
(to name the major ones! You can have the full list here
It is then something to know that S.E.L.L.
is behind a new video games dedicated event to take place in Paris: the Paris Games Week
First edition of Paris Games Week
will take place in Paris this Fall; from October 27th to 31st
. No less than 20,000 m² will welcome the 100,000 visitors awaited in Porte de Versailles' Hall 1. S.E.L.L.
's ambition is indeed to have in France an event which can be compared to Los-Angeles' E3
, the Tokyo Game Show or German's Gamescom.
Sadly we had no one at the E3 this year but for once, the large number of TLF Staff members from Paris will insure a great covering of the event! Stay tuned as more news will come before and during the show.
As we are quite numerous in Paris, we might also be able to organize ourselves to have something like a TLF Gathering in Paris at that time for those who won't be able to go to F.A.C.T.S.
in Ghent just a the days before (October 23rd and 24th). We can even do both in a row !!
What say you ?
